Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel. Proverbs 27:9

Please remember that fragrance oils (commonly referred to as FO's) are synthetic (neither natural nor organic). By weight, Emmaya Naturals and Sudz 'n Dudz products scented with FO's can still be labeled as organic. Caution should be excercised by those with chemical sensitivities. Because they are solvent based, fragrance oils are not recommended for use on dyed wool. The fragrance oils we carry are all phthalate-free.

For simplicity's sake, all scents are listed alphabetically. EO refers to essential oils or blends thereof, FO refers to fragrance oils or blends thereof, EO/FO refers to blends containing both essential and fragrance oils.

Allspice EO: The aroma is similar to a mixture of pepper, clove and cinnamon....it is spicy and warm, like the actual spice.

Allspice/Nutmeg EO Blend: A mysterious mix of these familiar herbs is spicy yet sweet. Makes me hungry for eggnog and snickerdoodles!

Amaretto FO: Amaretto fragrance oil possesses the aroma of sweet amaretto liqueur touched with a hint of vanilla.

Amber FO: Amber is a base note that is used in perfumery because it adds a sophisticated, warm base note to fragrance blends. Our Amber blend also contains notes of Vanilla, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Musk. It adds a wonderful twist to floral choices.

Amyris EO: This essential oil is commonly referred to as West Indian Sandalwood; however, it is not a true replacement for Sandalwood essential oil. The oil is extracted from wood chips of the tree. Its aroma is sweet and a little smoky and is known for its calming benefits.

Anise (Star) EO: Spicy, warm, licorice-like aroma like anise seed.

Autumn Breeze EO Blend: Balsamic amyris, lemon-y palmarosa, and earthy vetiver make this one-of-a-kind essential oil blend a perfect for fall woolwash days. The warm, natural aroma welcomes the cool autumn wind and invokes the lingering summer warmth with a hint of citrus. Enjoy!

Bayberry FO: This is a rich scent with floral and woodsy overtones. It is very popular during the holidays, but it makes a great year-round unisex scent as well.

Bay Rum EO: Light, spicy, sweet aroma, just like the Old Spice cologne your dad wore, but it's soft enough for the ladies too!

Bergamot EO: A nice combination of lemon/orange citrus and floral. Adds a slight greenish tinge to bar and to liquid soap. We purchase only bergaptene free bergamot, so you need not worry about photosensitivity.

Black Pepper EO:This EO has a fresh, dry-woody, warm and spicy scent. Best used in small amounts, it is absolutely divine when added to citrus oils, bergamot, or ylang ylang!

Cardamom EO: One of my favorite scents from India, Cardamom is often ground and sprinkled on rice pudding. Smells nutty, spicy, and sweet all at once.

Cedarwood (Virginia) EO: The first line of defense against wool-chewers, this oil comes from my favorite state and future home. It is also known as red cedar. Naturally, it has a woody scent, but this particular cedar is sweeter than most. Blends well with herbal and spice oils.

Chamomile (Roman) EO: Also known as Sweet Chamomile, its scent is sweet, herby, fruity, and apple-like. Very useful for colicky babies.

Chocolate FO: Please do not lick the soap! It smells very real, but alas, it is only an imitation. Enjoy as a blend with amaretto or hazlenut for a delectable treat!

Christine's EO Blend:Peru balsam is the base note for this blend, adding a gentle vanilla-ish, woodsy softness to lavender, bergamot, and ylang ylang essential oils.

Cinnamon Leaf EO: A warm and spicy aroma, just like red-hots! A highly antiseptic and very strong oil, only a small amount is necessary to scent products.

Citrus EO Blend: Bright and fresh! Citrus blend is a lovely combination of lemon, lime, sweet orange, mandarin, tangerine, and pink & white grapefruit essential oils. A customer favorite for years!

Citrus & Sage EO Blend:A lovely blend of orange, lemon, and lime citrus oils with clary sage. Perfect for boys or girls, the softness of the citrus nicely balances the tart herbal scent of the sage for a warm blend!

Clary Sage EO: An herbal scent that is earthy and fresh with a hint of fruit, clary sage is markedly different from its food-y smelling culinary counterpart, Dalmation Sage.

Clove Bud EO: A strong, spicy oil. Warming on the skin, only a few drops are needed to scent products. Blends well with citrus oils and softer woody oils like peru balsam and sandalwood.

Coriander Seed EO: A sharp, pungent oil that blends well with bergamot, lemon, and jasmine.

Creamsicle EO/FO Blend: Sweet orange EO and tahitian vanilla FO...YUM!!

Cucumber Melon FO: Fresh, clean, and fruity describe this scent perfectly. A great scent for brightening those last dreary days of winter and preparing for spring!

Deo EO Blend: This is a proprietary blend of citrus and floral oils known for their odor fighting properties. Orange, lemon, geranium, lavender and ylang ylang blend together to make a fresh clean, and powerful odor fighter that is loved by mamas of both boys and girls!

Drama Queen EO Blend: A blend exclusive to a former retailer who has since closed their doors, we've got some left! This blend was made with sweet orange which adds sweetness, clove which adds spice, and patchouli for a gentle earthy note.

Eucalyptus EO: A camphourous, medicinal odor with a slightly sweet, woody undertone. A great moth repellent!

Fennel EO: This is an herbal scent, slightly reminiscent of anise. It is a spice widely used in Mediterranean cuisine and it is one of the primary ingredients in absinthe.

Fig FO: This is a knock-off of Diptyque's famous perfume and it is absolutely intoxicating. The aroma is green floral with orange blossom, jasmine, gardenia, Italian bergamot and exotic musk.

Frankincense EO: Often used in perfumes, frankincense has a balsamic, woody aroma with a spicy kick. Blends well with other woody oils and with sweet florals.

Geranium EO: Sweet, heavy aroma, somewhat like rose with a minty, spicy overtone

Ginger EO:Spicy, woody, warm, with a hint of lemon and pepper. Spicy, woody, warm, with a hint of lemon and pepper. Blends very well with citrus oils.

Gingergrass EO:Unlike the bite you get with regular ginger, gingergrass offers a softer sweeter version of ginger...liked baked cookies with a slightly herbal note.

Ginger Lime EO Blend:A favorite request of a dear customer Catherine, I should really name it after her! Sweet and tangy, great for boys or girls. Smells good enough to eat!

Ginger Souffle FO:Based on the fabulous Origin's salt scrub, this is an aromatic blend of fresh orange and cool mint top notes with a spicy warm heart of clove, cardamom, ginger and cinnamon leaf with rich vanilla base notes supporting the blend. It turns a rich cream color in soap.

Hazlenut FO: Warm and toasty, this strong scent is relaxing and true. Excellent blended with chocolate fragrance oil.

Honeysuckle (Texas) FO: And you thought we only knew about yellow roses! This honeysuckle is a close second to the sweet Virginia Honeysuckle that I taught my daughters to enjoy a few summers ago! A nod to my "home" of nearly 10 years.

Hot Apple Pie FO: Very realistic and homey! Fresh from the oven goodness with tart baking apples, sweet buttery crust and delicious warm spices.

Jan's EO Blend: Sweet orange, clove bud, and a hint of nutmeg...just like Grandma's simmering spices! Warm and welcoming.

Kiwi FO: Bright green slices of juicy, ripe kiwi! Sweet and succulent, a tropical sensation! Blends deliciously with strawberry, lime, mango, cranberry and other tart fruity scents.

Lavender(French)EO: French lavender's aroma is the truest most floral of all lavenders. Slightly herbaceous with woody undertones it is a classic scent for baby.

Lavender Chamomile EO Blend: The ultimate in soothing! these flowers have a spicy twinge to them but they are most commonly used in night-time blends to calm and relax.

Leeja's EO Blend: Ylang-ylang, sweet orange, and geranium...a warm blend that's a little spicy and a little sweet and a LOT awesome!

Leleshwa E): Often called African wild sage, this oil is powerfully herbal, reminiscent of tea tree, and bugs can't stand it!

Lemon EO: Bright, clean citrus!

Lemongrass EO:Sweet, herbaceous, smoky and lemony aroma. An excellent moth/insect repellent.

Lemongrass Love EO Blend:Lemongrass is a perennial customer favorite, but the stuff give me a dreadful headache! I blended this lovely essential oil with my personal favorite Peru Balsam to soften the blow. I still got a headache, but the balsam adds a note of softness to the bright citrus tanginess of the lemongrass. Truly a blend to love!

Lettuce FO: Crisp and clean and everything green, try some today and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good romaine and iceburg can smell!

Lilac FO: When I was growing up, there was a huge lilac shrub under my window. In the summer, I awoke to the rich scent of the blooms and the sound of bees buzzing around the sweet buds. This fragrance oil does cause the bars to seize and as such, they have a lumpy texture and an uneven shape. Putting seized soap into a mold is like trying to put frozen peanut butter into an ice-cube tray, but for this sweet scent, it's worth the trouble!

Lime EO: A sweet and tart citrus oil that smells just like the lollipops we used to get from the bank teller when I was a kid!

Litsea Cubeba EO: Sweet, spicy and citrus fragrance with vegetative notes that blends well with lavender, neroli, and verbena.

Love at First Sight FO: Imagine the emotion of love at first sight, marvelous encounters, and the exuberance of youth, but in a bottle! Sparkling and quite unabashedly flirtatious. Top notes open with a bouquet of mandarin, neroli, violet leaves and rosewood. Heart notes are a blend of fruits (citrus, melons, peaches and plums), gardenia, soft sweet spices and mimosa, caressed by the base notes of musk, vanilla, tonka beans, woods and ambergris.

Mayan Gold FO:I'll give you one guess why I bought this one! I was intrigued by the description, as it seemed to characterize my little Maya so well. Not your typical girly-girl or your classic beauty, her appearance is striking, sophisticated...until she dissolves in giggles and the dimples and pixie ears reveal another side of her sweet, sassy, complex personality. This fragrance is a tantalizing mix of exotic woods, fruits and spices including patchouli, sandalwood, clary sage, mandarin orange and grapefruit touched with vanilla, chocolate and musk.

Mango FO: This Mango is a fun tropical fruit fragrance. It is fresh and green with citrus top notes, a supporting middle of ripe peaches and a sweet, lingering base of clean musk.

Maw Maw's Garden FO Blend: Named in honor of my daughters' great-grandmother, this scent contains a little of each of the wonderful flowers you'll find in her carefully tended garden. Stephanotis, tulip, rose, lilac, and lily of the valley with a touch of strawberry (planted as a treat for the birds).

Mint Medley EO Blend: An uplifting and refreshing blend of spearmint, wintergreen, and peppermint.

Morning Bliss EO Blend: Formerly known as Zen Morning, this is an invigorating, yet soothing blend of premium essential oils. Orange, bergamot, and clary sage add pep to the gentle calm of french lavender and wild chamomile.

Mulberry FO: Bursting with fruity flavor, we can certainly smell the raspberries, cherries, strawberries, peaches, pears, blueberries and mulberries in there! Mulberry is the primary scent, but then all the other wonderful fruity aromas hit you.

Myrhh EO:One of the gifts given to the infant Jesus, myrhh is actually tree sap. It is thick, with a wonderfully smoky scent. Myrhh is still used widely in ointments and as incense.

Myrtle EO: A woody oil with hints of sweetness and camphor. Blends nicely with lemon.

No Bugz! EO Blend:A surprisingly pleasant blend of oils chosen for their bug repelling abilities. Excellent for washing wool before storage between babies, but particularly beneficial in warm climates where bugs are a year-round concern! Verbena, French lavender, cedar, spruce, litsea cubeba, lemongrass, rosemary, geranium, clove, allspice, and basil. This batch seizes because of the allspice and clove, ugly bars, but the high glycerin content resulting from the extreme heat generated is BEAUTIFUL for your woolies! Found only here, at Emmaya Naturals!

Nutmeg EO: Spicy, warm, and sweet, delightful on its own or blended with a vanilla fragrance.

Orange Spice EO Blend:Who needs simmering spices when you've got wool wash?! This is a lovely blend of sweet orange, cinnamon, clove, anise, and black pepper essential oils. I made it just in time for fall and holiday weather. Warm and inviting, with just the right amount of spice.

Orange(Sweet) EO: Bright and cheery, this oil is delightful on its own, but blends well with florals, woods, herbs, and citruses too.

Osmanthus FO:Osmanthus is a delightful mix of citrus and herbaceous notes. Top notes include orange and plum (think tropical islands and sun!) with middle notes of jasmine that meld into a woody amber bottom. This all creates a delight for the senses in a fun, flirty and mature way.

Palmarosa EO: A fresh floral, palmarosa is not overly sweet or feminine. Similar to geranium but without the "kick"!

Patchouli EO: Don't shy away from this one! Patchouli's rich, woody scent adds a nice earthiness to just about any blend.

Peach FO:Deliciously sweet notes of juicy peaches capture the spirit of this perfect fuzzy treat!

Peru Balsam EO: My favorite yet! I can't even describe it...from its name, you'd expect something woodsy, but it just smells soft, clean, and natural. Kinda like a smokey vanilla.

Pink Grapefruit EO: Fresh, sweet, sharp citrusy aroma, lovely on its own or blended with florals or other citrus oils.

Pink Melon FO:Describing this scent as "watermelon-y" just doesn\t do it justice. More accurately, this fragrance has a little cantaloupe and honeydew thrown in for fun!

Pink Sugar FO: A fun, feminine, and fruity concoction of cotton candy, lemon drops, caramel and raspberry jam on a dry down of musk. A lovely reproduction of Aquolina's famous scent.

Plumeria FO: Also known as frangipani and the Hawaiian Lei flower, plumeria is a delightfully sweet floral fragrance, reminiscent of gardenia and jasmine, mixed with delicate hints of citrus and spice. Every bit as lovely as the flower that inspired it!

Red Mandarin EO:This is a warm, tangy, citrus oil, deep orange, almost red in color, that has a rich, sweet aroma. Blends well with other citrus oils and florals.

Rosemary EO: Fresh and herbal, slightly medicinal, rosemary is excellent for repelling wool munchers and blends very well with the mints and the citrus oils.

Rosemary Mint EO Blend: Rosemary essential oil blended with spearmint and peppermint essential oils and a touch of ginger and lime. This is a fresh, clean, inviting scent. Perfect for early fall.

Rose Petals FO: This one is a definite winner. It is not a little old lady perfume type of rose at all, but it reminds one more of Rose Milk hand lotion. It is very strong. The romantic scent of rose petals....it\’s like walking through a rose garden. Blends well with vanilla and other florals.

Rosewood EO: Sweet, softly floral, and woody, this is one of the few wood oils that doesn't need another oil to soften or round it out but it also blends very well with just about anything!

Sandalwood EO: Another very precious and expensive oil, sandalwood is delicately fragrant with a wonderfully sweet balance of floral and wood notes. A very popular oil for colognes and perfumes alike. *because it is an endangered species, we no longer offer this oil as a scent choice for products, but we use it sparingly in a few proprietary blends. We suggest Amyris or Peru Balsam as sustainable alternatives.

Sara's EO Blend: Canadian black spruce, peru balsam, rosewood, and myrtle... fresh, natural, and a little woodsy too!

Shannon's EO Blend: A stroke of inspiration, this blend was made for a dear Canadian customer and mom of 8...4 of whom are in full-time wool! It's a wonderful choice for boys and girls. A proprietary blend of rosewood, bergamot, geranium, and ylang ylang essential oils. Found exclusively at Emmaya Naturals!

Spearmint EO: Similar to spearmint, but softer and sweeter. Blends well with citrus and rosemary.

Spruce EO: Clear and crisp, just like a New England evening breeze. Blends well with clary sage, lavender, and other woody oils.

Tangerine EO: A lovely citrus oil, this one stands alone easily, but will also blend well with florals, spices, and citrus oils alike.

Tea Tree EO: A strong herbal oil that has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties.

Tea Tree/Eucalyptus EO Blend: Distinctly herbal in nature and slightly medicinal, this fragrance screams CLEAN. An excellent blend for use before storing your wool as moths and their larvae hate it!

Tropical Paradise FO:Everything you love about the beach, minus the sand. Coconut, pineapple, mango, and papaya swirl together in this wonderfully fruity fragrance.

Verbena EO: Verbena is the ideal mixture of herb, floral, and citrus components in one oil. It is very popular in perfuming, but adapts surprisingly well with other herbal and spice oils for more masculine blends too. It smells fresh, bright, and clean.

Vetiver EO: A spicy and herbaceous oil, vetiver blends well with just about anything, adding a rich earthiness to the scent.

Wintergreen EO: A wonderfully sweet mint, when used alone or in the mint medley blend, because of the powerful nature of this oil, is used only in very small quantities.

Wiper EO Blend:Softly herbal, this blend contains basil, lavender, helichrysm, lemon, clove, and eucalyptus. We like it for our wipe water because it smells fresh and clean and resists mildew growth.

Ylang Ylang EO: Floral, sweet, and fruity, I only use Ylang Ylang Extra, the product of the first steam distillation of the plant, and the most complete version of this precious oil.
